2024 Minarets Prom Overview Here’s what you might’ve missed

By Zoey Matheson

Our 2024 Minarets Prom was a night to remember. The venue was none other than Bandit Town, which is surrounded by vibrant green rocky mountains and nature deep within North Fork. When first walking through the gates of Bandit Town, the long stretch of gravel takes you to the outside of the venue, where the ax throwing booth is located. Walking through the venue's main doors, the loud music surrounded you with colorful lights. Many things stood out at this year's prom, here’s what a few students had to say about their experience:

The first student we asked was Felicia Keg. Felicia spent her night surrounded by many of her friends. One thing she said stood out to her at prom was the drinks and the food that was provided, saying they made the dance worth the money. Something that surprised her was “how well the venue and the decorations were, they fit very well with the theme and felt immersive.” Her favorite part of the night was just getting to dance around and have fun with her friends. One word to describe her night is ‘Memorable’.

Grace Noonkester was our second student interviewed. Grace attended prom with her boyfriend Caleb. One thing that stood out to her about prom was how cool the venue was. “I went into prom wondering if the decorations would be bad, but I was impressed. Something about the Western theme of Bandit Town made me worried about how it would look, but Leadership did a great job!” One thing she liked was the 360 Camera provided. “I had only ever seen something like that at the Met Gala on TikTok so it was a cool feature! Minarets should keep having that at dances.” Grace had described her night at prom as ‘Memorable’.

Another student interviewed was Keira Evans. She attended prom with many of her friends. Something that stood out to her at prom was the venue. She said, “I liked how the school made the venue stick out and make it seem like a perfect size for everyone that came.” We asked what had surprised her about this year's prom, she replied, “I was surprised by how much fun I had. It was better than last year's prom.” Her favorite part of the night was dancing all night with her friends, “It was just so much fun.”  She would describe her night in one word as ‘Perfect’.

Our last student is Lucas Pickens. He attended prom with his friends and his girlfriend Lily.

Something that stood out to him at prom was how nicely decorated the venue was.  He stated, “They used Bandit Town to the most of its potential.” Something he was surprised about was how packed the dance was until the very end. “I was shocked to see how many people stayed until the end since usually people leave after a couple hours but it was a full house until the very end.” His favorite part of the night was, “getting to slow dance with my amazing and beautiful girlfriend Lily.” He would describe his night in one word as ‘Epic’.

Overall our 2024 prom was a success, many students loved the different aspects included in this year’s prom. Everything about it was just great, from the venue, and the food/drinks, to the axe-throwing booth, and 360 camera. We can’t wait to see what next year’s 2025 prom will be like!
