From Marketing to Minarets: Meet Mrs. Klemme’s

It is so exciting to be writing an article about Mrs. Klemme, who teaches all Freshman English at Minarets. Before she became a teacher, she spent almost 15 years working in the marketing industry, focusing on education marketing. She was even the Director of Marketing and Communications for St. John Bosco High School in Southern California, then worked with the California State University Office of the Chancellor, managing marketing for all 22 Cal State campuses. Traveling around the country to help schools build websites and tell their stories sounds like such a cool experience, and she brings that energy and expertise into her classroom every day.

Aside from her impressive marketing background, she has a huge passion for sports and helping local athletes. She has served on the board for Yosemite Little League for the past three years, which shows how dedicated she is to building up young baseball and softball players. She also volunteered as the team mom for the Minarets Youth Football pee-wee team, where her husband was the head coach, and I think it’s awesome that she invests her time into activities that help our community grow.

When she’s not teaching or cheering on her favorite athletes, she’s exploring the outdoors. One of her biggest achievements was finishing a 55K ultramarathon in Bryce Canyon, which took her 10 hours to complete. She loves camping, hiking, and fishing with her husband and two kids, and it’s clear she’s all about staying active, challenging herself, and having fun in nature.

Most importantly, she truly believes in the Minarets 6 C’s: Creativity, Collaboration, Creativity, Community, Critical Thinking, and Competency. She brings these values into her classes every day, encouraging us to think outside the box, work together, and strive to be our very best. Having someone like her at Minarets is really inspiring, and it makes me appreciate how lucky we are to have teachers who care about our success both in and out of the classroom.
